We have a drawer full of old cameras, but I never took photography very seriously until I met Janet. My best pictures are, to a large extent, still lucky accidents. I had a terrible little camera held together by tape when I was in the Peace Corps in Malaysia, and when I traveled around the world in the mid 70s. I didn't bother to get a 35mm camera until sometime in the 1980's. In 1997, I bought a cheap Fujifilm Smart Shot Supreme to take on a trip to Malaysia and Singapore, and with it I was able to take some fairly decent photos.
Janet's Dad was a photography professor, so I think she's had a more serious interest in photography all along. When I got Janet an Olympus C700 in 2001, we both started taking a lot more pictures. Of course, we took a gazillion pictures of the first grandchild. The fact that Janet is a wonderful gardener gives us ample opportunity to take lots of nature photos. Janet especially enjoys taking photos of patterns in nature. We also enjoy taking lots and lots of photos as we travel.
We have photos both on Flickr and on PicasaWeb.
The files that begin with the letter "P" were taken with the Olympus C700 and were probably taken by Janet. The files that begin with "IMG" were taken using a Canon Power Shot A530, and were often taken by me, unless , of course, you see me in the picture.
