As we traveled along Interstate 40 in April 2007, returning from our trip to Texas and New Mexico, we traveled through Oklahoma to Arkansas.
We spent the night at Lake Dardanelle State Park, which would have been okay, except that for some strange reason there was work going on at 10:00 at night with a back hoe about 100 feet from where we were camped. I think the work lasted less than an hour, but it was very annoying to two tired travelers.
The next morning we noticed that there was a nuclear power plant on the other side of the lake, so we have to say that we give this park a bit less than a "glowing" review. However, the next morning we left here to vist Petit Jean State Park which was beautiful and well worth the stop.
